2025 SSVP Annual Report
This letter reviews and identifies updates from our parish’s SSVP team and their concrete actions of charity throughout the year. Many of you have contributed financially, thank you! The number of donors and individuals in need has increased. We received over $65,000 in donations in 2025! When you are generous, we can significantly help our neighbours.
Our mission is to serve people who are vulnerable. Here are some examples from this year:
- We donated grocery vouchers worth over $10,000 in conjunction with our community partners. There are people in the Bow Valley who cannot afford to buy food and are facing terrible hunger. These food vouchers have gone directly to them.
- We partnered with local organizations who work directly with our community, helping people in the Bow Valley, from Banff to MÎNÎ THNÎ.
- Bow Valley Food Bank collection of donated food in the church narthex
- Iyahrhe Nakoda Food Bank Society – over $24,330 worth of groceries shopped for and delivered by the team
- Stoney Wellness Centre – $6000 in grocery cards
- Canmore Hospital – $3000 in gift cards to help patients in need and to support volunteer services to patients
- Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy – over $1000 of grocery cards to help families in need
- St Mary’s Parish in Banff
- Our Lady of the Rockies in Canmore
- Individuals in need in the community who we connected with to help on an emergency case-by-case basis
- Our team volunteered for more than 350+ hours. The team of parishioners coordinated with partners, shopped for groceries and delivered food, and arranged for specific needs of individuals. We are always open to more volunteers to join us.
- We continued in our commitment of donating $500 of grocery cards to Stoney Wellness Centre and the Canmore Hospital on a monthly basis.
- In September we set up donations by e-transfer at [email protected]. We have received over $3,500 in e-transfer donations since then.
- Thanks to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy for a donation of $1500 (from the Read-A-Thon).
Donors like you have allowed us to offer the simple but impactful gift of grocery and food cards, groceries and emergency assistance to those in need.
Thank you, we are so grateful to you, and we wish you a very blessed Lenten season! We are praying for you. Please pray for us and the most vulnerable people in our world today.
Sincerely,
The Society of St Vincent de Paul
